Raleigh’s Long Forgotten Baseball Stadium

Devereaux Meadows stadium was built in 1938, and for the next 40 years, thousands of people from all over the area came here to watch games –it was the place to be!

But where did it go? It was destroyed in the 70s to make a City Sanitation site, some people have asked us where this was exactly located. Below we have aligned a 1930s aerial view of the stadium with a view of modern day Raleigh:
